Title: Swedish Apple Cake with Vanilla Sauce

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

Melt the butter. In a medium-sized bowl, combine the topping ingredients.

Peel, core, and slice the apples 1/4 inch thick. Fill the pie plate 2/3 full. Sprinkle with 1 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon. Spread topping ove rthe apples in the pie plate. Bake for 1 hour or until the crust is lightly browned.

For the sauce, combine the sugar, cornstarch, milk, and egg in a saucepan. Stir constantly with something OTHER than a steel whisk until it thickens and is smooth and glossy. Be careful to not let it boil. Remove from heat and stir in vanila. Serve after the sauce has cooled.
